Where to apply perfume

Coco Chanel famously stated that, “’A woman should wear perfume wherever she wants to be kissed.” This statement, however poetic and seductive, isn’t too far from the truth.

Perfume best responds to body heat. This warmth allows the notes to react with the skin, where the fragrance is diffused and magnified. To be specific, the best places to apply perfume are therefore pulse points. They act as triggers – responding to the increased blood circulation, and allowing one to enjoy the scent for the whole day.

These pulse points include inside wrists and elbows, the temples, below the earlobes, behind the knees, and most importantly the base of the throat – the perfect place for kisses.
